Characterization of Hindi Novels From The Point of View of Political Consciousness : A Study
Authors(1) :-Dr. Vijay Kumar Shukla In political novels, idioms have been used as a companion to a character in a particular situation for political purposes, or as an appropriate imagery in an author's statement. The format, structure, meaning and use of idioms have been adapted by the authors to fill their narrative with a new meaning. While doing politics on an English captain, the dog of 'Huzur' deviates from the idiom structure in his statement. 'Cutting grass is a phrase. But he does not use this idiom as it is. He says - "When the Major retired, the grass which he had cut in his job, to dry it in the sunlight of India, he now came to India and became a Superintendent of Police and hence he was called Captain." Major If the grass was cut in the job, then the expression could not be expressed that he has been cutting the grass not only in the job but also in other areas of life. In 'Huzur', the use of the phrase 'rounding the bed' has become very meaningful - "Saheb had also settled the world that he had placed a puddle near the bed. Know which day to round.
